Drawing from four decades of experience, Potter will inspire armchair travelers, aspiring explorers, and veteran railfans with gorgeous photography and unforgettable stories.
Highlights across six continents of railway adventures include a week-long luxury ride on India’s Palace on Wheels, a 950-mile journey on South Africa’s Blue Train, and a 1920s-style jaunt up to the Inca Citadel. ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Everett Potter has had bylines in almost every leading travel publication in the US, appeared on national television networks, and won four Lowell Thomas Awards. He spent 18 years as a weekly columnist for The New York Times Syndicate, six years as a columnist for Smart Money: The Wall Street Journal Magazine of Personal Business, and another six years as a columnist for USA Today and USA Weekend. He was the travel columnist and a contributing editor to Ski for 15 years.
Potter launched Everett Potter’s Travel Report in 2005. One of the industry’s most successful and well-respected respected digital sites, its roster has 50 contributors, including many top names in travel. He is the author of The Best of Brazil (Crown Publishers, 1989) and Cave Pictures (Kaldewey, 1981), a book of his poems illustrated by the contemporary abstract painter Jonathan Lasker. His third book, National Geographic’s 100 Train Journeys of a Lifetime: The World's Ultimate Rides, was published in 2025.
